Pale Reflections is an online, US based, community for those looking for help around issues relating to eating disorders.

Drugs and alcohol.

Narcotics Anon. is a non-profit Fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem.

Adfam is an organisation for relatives and friends concerned about the use of Drugs or Related Behavioural Problems

Depression.

Depression Alliance is the leading UK Charity providing information, support and understanding to anyone affected by depression. The Charity runs a national network of self-help groups, offers a membership scheme and produces a quarterly newsletter as well as a range of unique publications.

Samaritans is a charity based in the UK and Republic of Ireland that provides confidential emotional support to any person who is suicidal or despairing.

Manic depressives Fellowship works to enable people affected by manic depression to take control of their lives. Information on bi-polar disorders and support groups.

Dealing with depression An educational site created to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions surrounding depression. Includes finding out more about depression: who it affects and why, how to recognize the symptoms, and how to seek help for yourself or a loved one.

Action against depression is a new initiative - a start at building a larger virtual community; one that supports those suffering from depression and their families.


Anxiety and phobia.

First steps to freedom was set-up in 1991 to offer help to those who suffer from phobias, panic attacks, general anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders and tranquilliser withdrawal.

National Phobics Society was formed 30 years ago by a sufferer of agoraphobia for those affected by anxiety disorders. Still a user-led organisation, run by sufferers and ex-sufferers of anxiety disorders.

Severe mental illness

Sane From its initial focus on schizophrenia, SANE developed and is now concerned with all mental illnesses. It provide information and emotional support to those experiencing mental health problems, their families and carers through SANELINE 0845 767 8000 open from 12noon to 2am.

Rethink is the new operating name for the National Schizophrenia Fellowship. Working together to help everyone affected by severe mental illness, including schizophrenia, to recover a better quality of life.
